Kantha is one of the oldest forms of embroidery that originated in India. Kantha embroidery is a tradition – passed down the generations from mother to daughter. The motifs that the women folk in the villages used for the kantha embroidery were mostly derived from nature, viz. sun, tree of life, village scene, bird and the traditional kalka (different paisley motifs) and floral designs. Each kantha saree has a story to tell. It’s a wearable art form on textile and retains its exclusivity and individuality like two distinct individuals.

VibrantHues works with the artisans across Birbhum district of West Bengal. The sarees are hand-embroidered with thread on the base fabric which are made of natural fibres like – pure silk, Bishnupur Katan, Tussar, Khadi cotton and many more.

VibrantHues wishes to see that all Indian women have a kantha saree in their wardrobe for any occasion ether as a formal work wear or casual wear or for any celebrations.
